Lorelei is the forty-fourth chapter of the Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan manga.

Description

Edelweiss is standing over the defeated Ikki, who is bleeding on the ground and is unconscious. Just then, Kurono Shinguuji arrives at the Akatsuki Academy, pointing her Device at Edelweiss. Edelweiss though tells her to calm down, as she doesn't intend to fight her. Edelweiss then leaves, asking Kurono to tell Ikki that she will be looking forward to fighting Ikki again when he is a worthy opponent. Kurono inspects Ikki and begins healing him. However, she is surprised when she notices that there is a spot of blood where Edelweiss was standing, which means that Ikki was actually able to wound her in their final clash.

Inside the Akatsuki Academy building, Alice is holding the top half of her cut-in-half body of Shizuku, crying over her. The barely conscious Shizuku thinks about how Alice, Stella and Ikki will be sad if she dies, something which she does not want. Wallenstein then approaches the crying Alice, expressing his disappointment at an assassin trained by him showing so much emotion. As Wallenstein is about to cut down Alice, Shizuku's body suddenly vanishes into the air. Her whole body then reforms in front of them, with no injuries. This is her newly created Noble Art, Aoiro Rinne, that allows her to turn her body into vapor and then reform herself. Wallenstein is shocked by Shizuku being capable of such a feat, as it demands an extremely precise mana control. Shizuku though shows no amazement at the feat, intending to then kill Wallenstein. Shizuku uses the vapor in the air to suffocate Wallenstein, as his ability can only negate physical strikes. As Wallenstein suffocates, he pleads for mercy from Shizuku, who doesn't show a sign of remorse, telling Wallenstein that unlike Ikki or Stella, she has no mercy for her opponents. Shizuku then creates multiple ice spikes inside of Wallenstein, that pierce his body and cause blood to splatter everywhere in the room. Alice is shocked by Shizuku surviving, though he also feels bad for Shizuku doing something so dangerous for him. Shizuku then hugs Alice, saying that she is glad that Alice was still alive when she arrived, calling him "big sister". Remembering his past, Alice becomes very emotional by Shizuku's words. He hugs Shizuku, while promising to change into a better person.
