Daniel Dandalion is the Head of the League of Mage-Knight Nations' Vermillion Branch and the Vermillion's Sword Mentor.
Appearance[]
Dandalion is an old man, who despite his age, is still rather fit.
Personality[]
Dandalion is very loyal to the Vermillion Empire and it's imperial family. He also respects strong fighters.
History[]
Dandalion was the mentored Stella Vermillion in swordsmanship. He most likely also mentored many other Mage-Knights of Vermillion.

Dandalion confronts Ikki, who is running away from the people of Vermillion, on the roof of the Vermillion Palace. Dandalion traps Ikki, with his Blood Circle forcing him to fight him. They exchange quick thrusts, with Dandalion getting pushed back by Ikki. Dandalion then uses his sword's flexibility to hit Ikki. Dandalion tries to then use the Croix du Sud, but Ikki blocks it. Dandalion is impressed, by Ikki's quick adapting to Dandalion's sword. Ikki uses his first secret sword, Saigeki, which Dandalion blocks, telling that it's nothing compared to Stella's sword slashes. Ikki then attacks with Saigeki again, but this time lets go of his blade, only to pull it back, with it's unwound tsuka-ito. This confuses Dandalion and leaves him open to Ikki's attack. Ikki uses this opportunity to slash Dandalion. Dandalion then falls, marking that he wished he could have made Ikki at least use Ittou Shura.
The Nation Named Vermillion[]
Dandalion is present when Stella returns from Cradleland, and she reveals that the soldiers of Cradleland, who have attacked Vermillion, are actually controlled by Or-Gaule, who has conquered Cradleland.
They prepare a strategy to free the people of Cradleland from Or-Gaule's control by taking out those through who Or-Gaule controls others of Cradleland. By taking the "hubs" out those who are under Or-Gaule's control through them will then be freed.
Kardia Urban Warfare[]
Dandalion participates in the Battle of Kardia between Vermillion and Cradleland. He fights against Naseem Al-Salem, and he is beaten half-dead by Naseem, who only used his left hand.
Abilities[]
Master Swordsmanship: Dandalion, as Vermillion's Sword Mentor, is extremely skilled in swordsmanship, proficient in the Imperial Sword Style. He was so skilled that he managed to fight equally with Ikki Kurogane, for some time. Dandalion also was very fast, even keeping up with Ikki. He also has taught Stella in swordsmanship.
- Croix du Sud (lit. Southern Cross): Dandalion's sword technique. The technique is a series of five thrusts, that hit the opponent's vital points, fast as lightning. The attack forms a Southern Cross pattern.
Keen Intellect: Dandalion is shown being a very intellectual combatant. He was able to even outsmart Ikki for a short period of time. He even managed to block Ikki's Saigeki, a feat which only Edelweiss previously displayed.
Device[]
Lionheart: Dandalion's Device takes the form of a long rapier.
- Flexibility: Despite looking like a rapier, Lionheart is as flexible as a fleuret (foil). It's strange flexibility made it possible to hit from different angles than it would seem. It's flexibility also makes Ikki's Blade Steal and Dokuga No Tachi, unusable.
- Blood Circle (
血戦 Buraddo Sākuru, lit. "Blood Battle"): Dandalion's barrier-type Noble Art. It creates a barrier around himself and any opponents in his vicinity. It makes the opponent unable to escape him, though Dandalion is also unable to exit it, without deactivating it.
