Empress Dress (妃竜の羽衣(エンプレス・ドレス), Empress Dragon's Raiment) is a Noble Art of Stella Vermillion.

Description[]

Empress Dress is a defensive Noble Art, which is based around the same basic defensive technique of Blazers Known as Mana Defense, where Stella surrounds herself in a feathered raiment of flame, which protects her from various attacks and even melted bullet before either of them can touch her. It could also protect her from ice-based techniques as shown when Stella protected herself from Mikoto Tsuruya's Satin Ice an initial clash before being having her inner full potential brought out due to her Reisen Hiraga's Marionette. Aside from pure just defensive measures, Empress Dress is shown to be versatile as she could also set her opponent on fire when coming into contact with her and burn her immediate surroundings.

Having discovered the true nature of her powers as the "Dragon" among the Conceptual Manipulation instead of the "Fire" Nature Interference, Stella became able to "restore" her arm that was broken due to Yui Tatara using Total Reflect, through melting down the calcium in her broken bones and put them back together.

During the Vermillion Empire Arc, Stella later discovered a method to sense the surrounding area similar to what Touka Toudou has done to locate the linchpin used to operate multiple dolls linked using threads of mana. She did so by increasing the heat of her flames, scattering the phosphorescence across the battlefield, which all exceeds tens of thousands, letting her sense the entire battlefield and locate the magic threats linked to the dolls and then located the source where all of them are linked.

Weakness[]

Empress Dress covers Stella's vision with flames, making it harder to fight in close range combat.

Trivia[]

  • The kanji used for Empress Dress references the Hagoromo (羽衣, Feather Robe), feathered kimonos of Tennin, spiritual beings found in Japanese Buddhism.
