The battle begins

As soon as the battle starts, Ikki charges for Stella, using both Edelweiss's technique and his fourth secret sword technique, Shinkirou. Despite Ikki's immense speed, and afterimages, Stella counters, by using Dragon Stomp, causing the ground to shake. Stella slashes at Ikki, but the skilled swordsman temporarily dislocates his shoulder to resist the attack.

Stella then activates one of her strongest abilities, Bahamut Howl, which covers the arena in flames. Ikki though runs directly into the flames with high speed, to reduce the amount of time he's in contact with them, while also trying to reduce the contact to a minimum. Ikki then pierces Stella's body with Saigeki, only for her to be revealed being nothing more than a mirage created by Flame Veil. Stella then attacks Ikki from behind, but Ikki directs the force back at her with Madoka, the third secret sword technique, blowing her back.

Ikki charges at Stella again, while Stella launches her Satan Fang. Ikki manages to easily dodge the attack while launching a flurry of slashes at Stella. Stella is protected by her Empress Dress. This technique though also covers Stella's eyesight, forcing her to deactivate it. Ikki uses this opening, to wound Stella.

Ikki gains the upper hand in the fight, as Stella is being pushed back. It's revealed that Ikki is intentionally attacking Stella furiously at close range, to prevent her from using her Dragon Spirit, which requires Stella to stab herself. Certain members of the audience though notice, that Ikki has had a number of openings to use Ittou Rasetsu, which would have ended the match. Edelweiss, who is also watching the match, answers that Ikki is sensing that something is wrong.

As Ikki continues his assault, he senses that if he were to use Ittou Rasetsu, it would cause his own defeat. Stella then begins to suddenly giggle, commenting that she can't fool Ikki. She reveals that she can, in fact, activate Dragon Spirit at any time, and was trying to make Ikki use Ittou Rasetsu, by giving him openings. As Ikki doesn't fall for this, Stella decides to simply give up on her scheme, and activates Dragon Spirit immediately.

After activating Dragon Spirit, Stella gains the upper hand in the fight, pushing Ikki back. Attempting to get an opening, Ikki continually fails to counter against Stella, while being slowly succumbed to the pressure. Stella then stabs the arena and activates Dragon Nest, which starts to slowly melt the arena, placing a time limit on the match. Stella then continues her assault, using Dragon Stomp to weaken Ikki's footing. Ikki tries to stab Stella, but it's revealed to be another mirage created by Flame Veil. Stella attacks Ikki with another slash, which is revealed to be nothing but a faint, as Stella punches Ikki directly in the gut. Stella then tries finishing the match with a final slash, which is suddenly countered by Ikki's Madoka, which sends the immense power of the attack back at Stella, gravely wounding her. This sudden counter increases Ikki's trust in his own abilities. Ikki the activates Ittou Shura and once again charges for Stella.

Ikki and Stella furiously clash with immense force. They exchange a number of strikes, with initially neither gaining the advantage. While the speed of Stella's attacks increases, Ikki though changes Madoka, so he can exert it through every strike. As their fight continues, Ikki finally gets pushed back by Stella's incredibly strong attacks. Edelweiss notes that Stella is going to inevitably win, as her fate is greater than Ikki's. Edelweiss explains that every being has a certain fate, and those with greater fate have less power than those with lesser fates. As Stella has one of the greatest fates, she is going to win the fight against Ikki, who has gone as far as his fate allows.

Stella continues to push Ikki back, as his Ittou Shura draws near its end. Stella then uses her ultimate attack, Katharterio Salamandra, which launches Ikki through the wall of the arena, burying him in the rubble, just as Ittou Shura runs out of time. The referee then starts counting time for Ikki to get back in to the arena, and if he doesn't he will be eliminated. Despite having done everything he could, and everyone accepting his strength, Ikki decides to continue, reaching his "Awakening" and breaking the chains of fate that bind him, and rises from the rubble.

After gaining more magic power from his "Awakening", Ikki activates Ittou Rasetsu, while he and Stella charge for each other. Ikki increases the speed of his attack, improvising his final secret sword technique Oikage, which is so fast, even Ikki's shadow can't keep up. The attack hits Stella, finally taking her out of the battle, while her Dragon Spirit also runs out of power.

Epilogue[]

Ikki then catches the falling Stella, who announces she will win next time. Both Ikki and Stella are then carried to be healed, as they are both extremely injured. In their hospital room, Ikki and Stella later have sex, which greatly enrages Shizuku who finds out about it later.

As the winner of the match, Ikki is crowned the new Seven Stars Sword King and the winner of the 62nd Seven Stars Sword Art Festival. Ikki and Stella also decide to head for Vermillion, to meet with Stella's parents.
