Johann Cristoph von Collbrand is the only son of the King of Cradleland, making him the First Prince of Cradleland. After the death of his father and Or-Gaule taking control over the country, Johann became the official King of Cradleland.
Appearance[]
Johann is a fit young man with blonde hair.
Personality[]
Johann is a brave and friendly person. He is very loyal to both his friends and his country. After being enslaved by Or-Gaule, Johann becomes a shadow of his former self, a mere shell of a person. Or-Gaul even mentions that Johann has given up all hope for fighting against him.
History[]
In his childhood, Johann was very good friends with Lunaeyes Vermillion, to the point that they were like siblings. He also is mentioned being good friends with Stella and is like an older brother to her.
In his youth, Johann went to a university in the United Kingdom with Lunaeyes. At the time, Johann was feeling pressure from having to eventually inherit the throne of Cradleland, which caused him to fall in with a bad crowd. However, Lunaeyes managed to slap some sense into him, reminding him of his responsibilities and taking him home. Right after they left, the people Johann was hanging with got arrested for illegal drug use. This event caused Johann to become more dignified and responsible, thanks to Lunaeyes.
Plot[]
Vermillion Empire Arc[]
The Opening of a Tragedy[]
Johann, along with his team members Lid, Mira, Enalis, and Luke, is seen preparing for the upcoming tournament against Vermillion. Johann tells them, that Ikki Kurogane, a foreign student knight from Japan and the Seven Stars Sword King, is participating in the tournament, in Vermillion's side. Johann's team members question if Johann can prevent Ikki from participating, but he responds that he can't as he owes Lunaeyes a favor.
Then a mysterious hooded individual, named Or-Gaule appears in the room. Johann senses that he is far stronger than them, and orders his team members to escape, while he tries fighting Or-Gaule. Johann though is taken over by Or-Gaule, who forces him to attack his friends. All of Johann's team members are killed, by Johann himself, and Or-Gaule then takes over every citizen of Cradleland. Johann himself was forced to kill his own parents, causing him to become the King, under Or-Gaule's control
Visit to Cradleland[]
Johann, who is secretly controlled by Or-Gaule meets with Ikki, Stella, and Lunaeyes who he asked to come to Cradleland, in the capital of Cradleland, Lucier. He then takes them to a park to eat, where Or-Gaule makes a surprise attack on them. Johann attacks Stella, who questions Johann's actions, with Johann only continually saying he's sorry. Johann tries restraining Stella, only for her to activate Dragon Spirit which overwhelms Johann. Ikki, Stella, and Lunaeyes are saved from Or-Gaule, by Iris Ascarid, who teleports them away.
Kardia Urban Warfare[]
Johann later appears during the Battle of Kardia between Vermillion and Cradleland. He is riding his Chariot's true form, with Lunaeyes and Or-Gaule in it. Lunaeyes then stops the fighting, by declaring that the tournament between Vermillion and Cradleland will be held, to decide the fate of the two countries.
Responsibilities as a Royalty[]
Johann is later announced as one of Cradleland's representatives for the upcoming tournament, along with Or-Gaule, Naseem, Ein and Big Baby.
Johann attacking Stella
Imperial War Outbreak[]
On the day of the tournament, Johann, along with the rest of Team Cradleland, faces Team Vermillion in the capital of Cradleland, Lucier, where the battle royale tournament will be held. As the battle begins, Naseem uses his ability to create a sandstorm that sends all of the competitors, apart from Nene Saikyo, flying in the air. In the air, Johann attacks Stella with his Circus Maximus, clashing with her. Johann initially has the advantage, due to being able to move more freely in the sky, with Stella only being able to defend against his attacks. However, Johann's body starts getting damaged by his body being overexerted due to Or-Gaule's control, allowing Stella to grab him and throw him on the ground.
As Johann is getting back up, he is confronted by Lunaeyes, who had arrived at the battlefield. Johann is forced to attack her by Or-Gaule's control, but just as he is about to pierce her, Johann is able to break Or-Gaule's control, due to his feelings for Lunaeyes. Lunaeyes then hugs Johann, while Johann mourns over not being able to protect anyone. Lunaeyes, however, disagrees, saying that Johann managed to protect her and that Stella will reclaim Cradleland. Lunaeyes and Johann are then escorted away from the battlefield by the relief squad of the League.
Abilities[]
Road Manipulation: His ability as a Blazer is the causation of "Road", which lets him "overcome any situation or environment", being able to charge straight through it. This allows him to float and attack his opponent continually.
Master Spearmanship: Johann is very adept at using spears. He is one of Cradleland's strongest warriors and was even able to fight on par with Stella before she activated Dragon Spirit.
Riding Expert: Johann has shown being able to skillfully ride his horse, using it to attack his opponents.
Device[]
Chariot (黄金色戦車, Golden Tank): Johann's Device takes the form of a golden knight spear. It also has a true form, which is a golden horse that he rides on while attacking with the spear. He is able to use the horse form to fly through the sky.
- Circus Maximus (轢蹄の王道, Sākasu Makishimasu): Johann's Noble Art, which is the strongest and fastest attack in all of Cradleland. Johann activates it by transforming his Device into its true form, a golden horse, and the proceeds to ride it, trampling and destroying everything in his way.
