Yet great power brought responsibility befitting its status. One expression of such responsibility was the Mage-Knight System.

The Mage-Knight System (魔法騎士制度, Mahou Kishi Seido) is a program that oversees the training and licensing of Blazers as a professional occupation aptly called Mage-Knights (魔法騎士, Mahou Kishi).

Summary[]

The Mage-Knight System is created in light of increased terrorist activity by rogue Blazers throughout the world and the need to regulate the development of Blazer powers. The core concept behind the system requires Blazers to undergo education under Schools recognized by the League of Mage Knights as a Student Knight (学生の騎士, Gakusei no Kishi). The Schools would then allow those who successfully completed all academic requirements as Student Knights to graduate as a full-fledged Mage-Knight.

Mage-Knights are given several benefits after graduation. They can return to society and acquire jobs, or can be recruited into the police or anti-terrorism units that specifically oppose Blazers that abuse their powers. As representatives of one's country, Mage-Knights also have a certain extent of diplomatic liberty, allowing clearance requirements to be simplified when traveling to other countries, especially in critical situations.
