Ouma Kurogane vs Renji Kaga is a fight between Akatsuki member Ouma Kurogane and Rokuson Academy representative Renji Kaga. It one of the quarter-finals matches of the Seven Stars Sword Art Festival.
Prologue[]
The battle is the quarter-finals match of Block A. Renji, being the only of the last years top 8 to be in the top 8 of this year, confronts Ouma in the arena who he knew 5 years ago. Renji then rips his clothes apart and reveals his loincloth Device, Raiden. In his youth, Renji had been defeated multiple times by Ouma and had been fueled to become stronger by him. Now he believes that he has finally reached Ouma's level.
Battle[]
Renji activates his ability, turning his skin into steel, increasing its durability. He then uses his steel skin to form new arms, taking a form resembling an Asura. Renji declares he has created this technique specifically to defeat Ouma. Renji then attacks Ouma with Ashura Hyakkashou, a series of hundreds of powerful slaps, which hit Ouma directly. Ouma though is completely undamaged, being unimpressed by Renji's power.
Ouma then uses his Device and cuts off Renji's extra arms. However, Renji refuses to give up, attacking Ouma until all of his arms have been cut off. Ouma then pierces Renji's extremely durable skin, with his bare hand, also crushing his heart, taking Renji out of the match.
Epilogue[]
The audience is greatly shocked by Ouma's cruelty. Only one person even claps, that being Stella Vermillion, who recognizes that Ouma's cruelty was to ensure that he would win the match. Renji, despite being greatly wounded, is fully healed, thanks to Kurono freezing his body in time, which allowed him to be healed. He is though eliminated from the Festival, while Ouma advances to the semi-finals, where he will face Stella.
