In their initial encounter, Tendo was grateful for the care that she had given him despite not knowing him, to begin with. The two had continued to grow close as he remained in the Wakaba House, watching the children who lived there when all of them were busy, Tohka was comfortable enough to share her dreams. Despite revealing his true nature to her, he viewed has as dazzling and sought her for her to reach her awakening even if it meant driving her to utter dispair by taking away the people close to her.

It is unknown the exact nature of their relationship, but during World War II, he confronted and was defeated by the samurai. Though despite being losing against Ryouma, Tendou held him in high regard even calling him the Great Hero and a giant star who illuminated that era.
